C4 GAUGE PACKAGE
In 1984 General Motors introduced a new model of Corvette. Many now call this model the C4. The C4 was introduced with many new components that migrated from mechanical control to electronic. Headlight actuation, engine management, and instrumentation were some of the many that had some kind of upgrade to electronic control.
With these upgrades, the most notable was the introduction of the new LCD instrument dash. This LCD dash provided a visual display of the Corvettes’ engine and driving information, all from one single device. The LCD dash display was one of the Corvettes greatest leaps into the electronic world. No longer were signals from the engine coming into the instrumentation panel with tubing or large gauge wires.
The LCD display was a great feature; but as the years added up, the failure of these units increased as did what it took to keep them operable.
Now the LCD display is one of most common major problems of these late model Corvettes. The units are no longer available through GM, and repairs of these units are getting quite expensive. Also, some of these repaired units will not be warranted.
VettAid has now introduced a complete line of gauge kits that replace the old, tired LCD display with a new electronic analog gauge system. These new gauge packages start with a 6 gauge “Plug n’ Go” kit up to a 10 gauge kit that you can customize.
VettAid’s unpretentious features include LED turn signals and a high beam indicator. Performance features include a built-in shift light and more informative gauging for the experienced driver. Additional gauges can be located in the Tell-Tale console for those who want to expand their needs for instrumentation.
There are 6 kits available, all of which are ready to install in an afternoon. Depending on the kit, all you do is install the required sensors and cables to achieve a new look to your dash.
If you have in mind a different gauge layout, or a need for different instrumentation, custom kits are available.
All kits include a colored installation manual, sensors, connectors, wiring, and 15 minutes of free technical support to get you through the installation.
